Adjunct Instructor Legal Studies

Berkeley College is currently hiring an adjunct faculty to teach in the School of Professional Studies, Legal Studies Department.

All candidates must demonstrate the following skills and abilities related to Academic Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Teaching excellence
Ability to Deliver lessons to undergraduate students.
Ability to Initiate, facilitate, interact and moderate classroom forums.
Demonstrated ability to Be a faculty leader in your classes embracing
Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers within the timeframe set forth by Berkeley policy providing effective feedback to guide student learning and success.
Comply with Berkeley guidelines and expectations for quality faculty engagement.
Engage in the classroom and reply to emails, etc. within 24 hours, including one day over the weekend.
Remain aware of classroom procedures and use of instructional materials.
Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills.
Attend discipline specific and administrative meetings as scheduled.
Maintain 'discipline' knowledge by participating in one's own
discipline-related professional communities.
Support Berkeley College initiatives and departments.
New hires will be required to take Blackboard training.

RequirementsQualifications: Applicants must have an earned a J.D. or a Masters Degree in Legal Studies or related discipline. A track record of effective teaching experience in a Legal Studies program and/or experience in law are highly desirable.
Terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred and appropriate credentials ? if applicable.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs required.
Demonstrated Record of excellence in teaching.
College-level teaching experience is required.
Online teaching experience is required.
Prior experience with Blackboard 9 or 9.1 is required.
High level of technology proficiency is required and access to reliable high-speed internet connection.
Excellent writing and communication skills are required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
