Our client is a leading provider of transportation in New Jersey.
They are seeking a Principal Employee Relations Specialist to join their team! Salary/Hourly Rate:
$33 - $38/hr Position Overview:
The Principal Employee Relations Specialist will serve as a lead specialist or focal point to other Employee Relations staff, and provides supervision on Employee Relations matters and review of program recommendations in the absence of the Senior Director, HR Business Partner, or as required.
The Principal Employee Relations Specialist oversees negotiations for the arrangement of all off-site engagements, facilities, meetings, equipment and corporate discount/group rate programs.
Responsibilities of the Principal Employee Relations Specialist:
Develop and administer training initiatives, independently coach, and counsel managers at all levels on conflict resolution programs Develop and recommend employee relation policies and procedures, and facilitate employee relations meetings with employees and managers Takes lead in conducting in-depth investigations of complex internal and external complaints Leads the research, development and implementation efforts with respect to programs that identify and address employee concerns Work in conjunction with EEO/AA staff on complex cases that fall under both Employee Relations and EEO/AA Prepares budget development, revisions and reduction scenarios Qualifications for the Principal Employee Relations Specialist:
Six (6) or more years experience in research and interpretation of human resources, employee relations issues, including five (5) years demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations issues Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality Ability to quickly build trusting relationships and gain credibility and partner with employees at all levels is required Ability to multi-task effectively while dealing with highly detailed activities is required Experience with conducting a high volume of investigations is necessary Highly organized, strong attention to detail and proven follow-up skills are needed Proficiency in preparing, interpreting and analyzing budgets is required One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related area is required
